Glastonbury

I recently had the gift of visiting the sacred lands of Glastonbury. Stunning as always with the May apple blossom in full bloom, a quiet walk up the Tor, glimpse of the ever powerful White Spring through its gated entrance and the beauty of being in the Abbey grounds through the beginning of the full moon eclipse. Powerful energetic times.

Happy Beltane!

Celebrating this beautiful Celtic festival of fecundity with the humble dandelion here in Orkney. Hope the increasing hours of daylight, warmth and growth here in the Northern Hemisphere bring a greater sense of hope, joy and the potential for renewal to all.

Daffodils In Bloom

It's beginning to feel  a little more spring like here in Orkney, and the daffodils are in full bloom. Lovely to be able to celebrate longer daylight hours and  a little more warmth in the air. Winter has felt long and cold this time around.

Early Evening Light

I had the gift of walking home from a friends house later on yesterday, here in the West Mainland of Orkney. So beautiful to experience stillness in the air and the beautiful early evening light of spring across the lochans.

Orkney Salt Marsh

Visited the only salt marsh in Orkney at the weekend. Beautiful mix of beach, marsh, pebbles and seaweed enhanced by a hint of blue in the sky and the company of Cora, our ever enthusiastic golden retriever.

Winter Light

The astounding beauty of the winter light here in Orkney this week, has prompted me to continue with this blog, after a gap of some months.

Snowy conditions are always so magical and the expansive skies of the Northern Isles only serve to enhance that feeling of wonderment and joy.
